First Extraliga race of the season for Praha, but the team were not able to repeat their pre-season result against Mseno and a on form Greg Hancock Sebastian Ulamek and Tomas Topinka.

A disappointing night for Sam, but he will be looking to improve in the next meeting.

PSK Olymp Praha first Extraliga race is against Mzeno, so Sam will be looking to take his current form to that race.

SOMERSET REBELS 10TH ANNIVERSARY MEETING- 19th March 2010

Sam returns to the UK for the first time in 2010 where he will be riding at the Somerset Rebels on the 19th March.

Sam and the Simota Speedway team are looking forward to this meeting and hope that you can all be there to support them.

Somerset Speedway will be holding a memorial service to the late Emil Kramer at the Oak Tree Arena on Friday 19th March, service to commence at 5.45pm followed by the 10 Year Anniversary Meeting starting at 7.15pm, with the pre-meeting rider parade taking place at 7pm.

M6 TROPHY - WEDNESDAY 28TH OCTOBER 2009

Sam returns to the UK to replace former Birmingham rider Rober Ksiezak in the 2nd leg round of the M6 Trophy.  The Potters take a 13 point lead over Birmingham Brummies.

Sam is looking forward to Wednesday's race and looking to increase the points.

A promising returning for Sam back on a UK track.  Although he suffered a few technical problems with his bike, Sam delivered a great all round performance.

SUNDAY 25TH OCTOBER 2009 - STOKE - THE PRIDE OF THE POTTERIES INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGE MATCH

STOKE stages the prestigious "Pride of the Potteries Individual" meeting at Loomer Road on Sunday at 3pm, where Sam and fifteen other riders will take to the track to compete for the coveted trophy

This will be Sam's first return to a UK track competitively since his injury in May 2008, but Sam is looking forward to returning to the UK and riding on a track he has previously enjoyed during his term with the Reading Racers.

The top of the league team Holsted held Brovst and a below par performance from Sam, but Holsted out performed Brovst with team captain Pedersen, and the rest of the team all producing sold riding, a Brovst team were never able to match them on the night.

Sam continues to progress steadily back into racing and has remained consistent with his form, but he continues to work hard with training personally and with the team to regain the form before his accident last year.

Sam has been training hard with his Lodz team over the past couple of months since the Polish League started and on his first debut since his crash in Hungary last year, Sam has shown everyone that he is back!

Although no podium place for Sam, however he progressed into the Semi finals and came overall 7th place.

PRESS AND PRACTICE DAY 27TH MARCH 2009

Sam and the Simota Speedway Team are all set and ready for the first Press and Practice Day in Poland this weekend, where the Orzel Lodz team will be showing the fans the team line up for 2009, and all the riders will be present to meet the fans as well as have a bit of practice on the bikes.

SAM, FIT AND READY FOR THE 2009 SEASON - Wednesday 4TH March 2009

A very belated "Happy New Year" to you all its been a very long winter for Sam and his team, with the on-going winter practice and bike maintenance.

We are delighted to report that we have received fantastic news from the medical specialists that Sam has passed his medical and is signed off as fit to race again.

His first race will be the 5th April 2009 in Poland ... so stay posted for more updates on his training and preparation progress leading up to April.

Sam will be featured in the next edition  of the Speedway Star, where he talks about his experience at Reading Racers, the past, present and future of his career, his team, family and sponsors.

SAM RETURNS TO ORZEL LODZ FOR ANOTHER YEAR!

Sam is delighted to be returning to Orzel Lodz's for another season.  He has enjoyed past seasons with the Polish team and hopes to put the past injury season behind him to concentrate on getting back on the track competitively. 

 

SAM AT THE READING SPEEDWAY END OF AN ERA EVENT - Sunday 19th October 2008

Sam was delighted to attend the "End-Of-An-Era" event on the 19th October 2008 at the Smallmead Stadium.  This was Sam's first visit back to Smallmead since his injury in May and he was met with a huge welcome from fans, old friends and staff at Reading Racers.

It was a happy but a sad occasion for Sam, as Smallmead will always be one of his favourite tracks.  He has very fond memories with the team and the staff at Smallmead.  He wishes to thank Malcolm for his kind invitation and he wouldn't have missed the event for anything.  Also Sam would like thank all the fans for all the support they have given him over the years at Smallmead, even when he was riding at Peterborough Panthers this year.

As with other riders and fans at Reading Racers, Sam hopes to see the return of speedway at Reading and looks forward to 2010.

Sam was surprised by one of his old friends and sponsors Alex Croshaw of Alex Racing on Sunday, when Alex showed him a painted picture of Sam's Reading Bike on his bedroom wall.  Sam loves the picture!  

 

 

 

SAM RETURNS TO THE UK- Monday 22ND September 2008

Simota Speedway are delighted to announce that Sam will be returning to the UK to attend Reading Racer's "End-Of-An-Era" event on the 19th October 2008 at the Smallmead Stadium.  This will be Sam's first visit back to Smallmead since his injury in May.  For more details visit Reading Racers web site.

Sam continues to progress very well with his rehabilitation and looks forward to starting his training in the next couple of months.  

UPDATE ON SAM - Monday 8th September 2008

Good News from Sam's recent X-Ray and check up last Friday, that he is on the mend faster than the doctors predicted and Sam will continue with his rehabilitation sessions for the next couple of months.

Shortly Sam will be starting on his gym and winter training sessions, so it will not be long before Sam is back on the tracks with his bikes.


UPDATE ON SAM - Tuesday 2nd September 2008

Rehabilitation and physio continued for Sam throughout August, with visits to the clinic three times a week. He will be shortly revisiting the hospital for a x-ray this Friday to see how things are progressing.

Sam is so far still on schedule to be back in training at the end of October - November, so if all continues to progress well then he will be back on his bikes to start training over the winter. Which as you can all imagine, he cannot wait to be back on his bikes.


VISIT TO POLAND - Wednesday 30th July 2008

Sam received a very warm and loud reception from the Polish crowd last weekend when he joined his team at Orzel Lodz's on the pre-race parade around the track.

Thanks to all the Polish fans who gave Sam such a great reception and he hopes to be back to visit the team again very soon!

Sam's rehabilitation has continued to progress very well, with Sam no longer required to wear a hard neck brace for support.

Sam is very happy with his progress and continues to work with the specialists in the Czech Republic on his physiotherapy and exercise schedule.

UPDATE ON SAM - Thursday 10th July 2008

Sam continues to progress very well in his   rehabilitation and next week he will be travelling to Poland to support Orzel Lodz.

UPDATE ON SAM - Monday 30th June 2008

Happy to report that Sam is progressing very well with his physio and if things continue to improve, Sam will be scheduled to start training again in October and throughout the winter.  However, Sam will continue to follow the schedule that has been set for him by the medical specialists and will not rush the development of his rehabilitation.  

Last week Sam visited his home team AK Plzen to watch a bit of action on the track and to meet some of the fans.  And he will be travelling to Poland to visit Orzel Lodz in July for a few days. 

Thank you to those who continue to send Sam fantastic messages and for those who wore Sam's shirts and caps to Cardiff at the GP!!! You all looked fantastic, if you have any pictures of you wearing Sam's shirts, please send them into promotions, Sam would love to see them!

DONATIONS TO SAM SIMOTA FUNDS- Thursday 29th May 2008

The Simota Speedway Team has received requests on how to donate to a collection for Sam whilst he is injured. Sam and the Team wish for fans to get something back for their kind contributions. So if fans wish to make any contributions they can do so maybe by purchasing from the Simota Speedway Merchandise range which is listed in the fan club section of this page as all the money from the sale of merchandise go directly to Sam, but obviously if you wish to just make a contribution, then email promotions@simotaspeedway.com where the team will assist.

UPDATE ON SAM - Wednesday 28th May 2008

Sam's stitches will be removed today and he will be starting his three week programme of physio at the end of this week.

Sam is very upbeat about his recovery and knows that there is a long road ahead, but he is very positive.

UPDATE ON SAM - Friday 23rd May 2008

With the fantastic news earlier in the week of Sam's recovery progress, there is no stopping him now... he will be shortly attending a rehabilitation clinic for three weeks to start his recovery schedule. Sam and the team are very happy with his progress and with the way things are going ... no one will be able to get Sam away from his bikes for long!

UPDATE ON SAM - Sunday 18th May 2008

We are delighted to announce that Sam is now home and resting. He is due to visit the hospital this week to have his stitches taken out, but a lot of rest is recommended.

Despite the frustrations of being injured and although the road to recovery will be a long one, Sam and the team are positive that he will make a successful one!

Sam and the team hope to see you all in the UK when he is well enough to travel and to thank you all personally.

Sam Update

Since Sam's return to a Czech Republic hospital from Hungary, the doctors have completed his operation and the specialists who has been over seeing his treatment are very happy with the progress of his recovery so far.

Sam Update

Although not a nice way to celebrate his birthday this weekend, Sam has now been transferred by air to a Czech Republic hospital for further treatment to his injuries sustained in Hungary. He is comfortable and very upbeat. In the next few days he will require surgery and once this has been completed, the doctors will assess his recovery process

During the early stages of the Polish race against Speedway Miskolc, Sam was injured and taken to hospital for further assistance after on site paramedics attended to him at the track.

Sam will not be racing on Bank Holiday Monday against Ipswich but hope to be back with Peterborough as soon as possible.
